Winter Maternity Photographer

There’s nothing like being a winter maternity photographer here in Lake Zurich.  Sure, its very cold, and white, and cold.  Did I mention it’s cold?  It’s honestly the coldest I remember since moving up here to the Chicago suburbs.  But I’m a trooper – put on my warm clothes and gloves and headed out for this session.

But let’s be honest – looking at these photographs I think you would agree that it is totally worth it.  Especially when someone look as gorgeous as this momma!  I told her it’s not fair and she is totally putting my pregnant self (and non-pregnant self) to shame!  They also chose the perfect outfits and all three of them looked simply stunning in the snow.  The colors really popped and helped to create their final images.

During the session I got to know a bit more about them.  They are originally from India and yes, I know it is hot there.  But because I am not weather/geography smart, I ask them “Does it ever snow there?” and they said no.  They are actually going to be sending their digital files to their families back home.  What an amazing surprise they will have when they open the files and see the photographs with them surrounded by white snow!  I can’t even imagine how cool that is going to be. (Oh, and they also agreed that this is the coldest winter they can remember since moving here, as well).

Their son was super cute and had an amazing personality.  I already know he’s going to be an awesome big brother.

I am so excited for this family to come back next month so I can photograph their new baby.  AND to see their oldest son again.  He was seriously adorable.
