New location. New family. Lots of fun on this warm, almost fall evening.  Believe it or not, this is private land that I have permission to shoot on, so it’s always quiet and not overrun with other photographers (and the scenery is always to my liking), so it’s a win-win for all of us!  I can focus on them and they can focus on each other (and not random people running around, haha). Plus, in the spring I may or may not there spreading wildflower seeds in hopes they will take root.  Shhhhh.

Going into a session with a new family is usually me spending a few minutes “reading” the vibe of a family so I know how to best work with them.  These three were the most relaxed, fun family I’ve met in awhile and they were game for whatever I threw at them.  Plus, the kids were SO nice and responsible.  At the end, the daughter took her purse and gave me a tip.  WHAT!?  How amazingly sweet this child is!!!  This mother is so blessed, that’s for sure.  You know she’s done an amazing job with kids as nice and cooperative as these two.

I do have a studio in downtown Lake Zurich (a northwest suburbs of Chicago), however I absolutely love photographing families outdoors when the weather allows for it. Sun-drenched sunset sessions are my jam!
