Maternity dresses for photography session

My Lake Zurich studio offers a wide range of dresses and clothing for maternity photo sessions.  If you are in or near the northwest Chicago suburbs, my studio’s maternity closet (which is actually an entire room) has you covered! Below is part of of my collection and I will send you a current link filled with items to choose from as it gets closer to your session date. Dresses and gowns are alway rotating in and out as the styles change and dresses are worn out or go out of style. If you prefer to keep yourself modest and covered, lacy and bare-it-all, or a bit of glitz and glam, velvet, sequins, chiffon, or knit I have something for you in a range of colors and sizes!

Flower crowns, sweater wraps, fake fur shawls, rhinestone belts, capes, and other beautiful accessories to complete your outfit are all part of my collection, too! Most dresses also have a detachable tossing train in a matching color for those dramatic dress images. 

Of course, my closet is always evolving so when it comes time to pick your favorites you will see everything the studio has to offer.  And no worries, your outfits will be freshly pressed and steamed before your maternity session. Of course, they always look better on a real human than on the mannequin below. Trust me!

•I really love your dresses, can I rent one from you?
My maternity wardrobe is exclusive to my studio and one of the many reasons moms choose to work with me.I do not rent out dresses.

•I love the look of the flowing dress in photos.  Which dresses work best for that?
Pick your favorite and then leave it to me to bring along the coordinating train for your dress or dresses.

•I am not into showing my bare belly but I am loving the look of the flowy, split front dresses. What are my options?
Good news for you!  Some of the split front gowns can be layered to give the look of the split, but with a matching or coordinating dress or skirt underneath. So when your split dress is flowing, you still have full coverage in the front.

•I want nude or nearly nude maternity photos.  Do you do that?
Yup!  I have several unlined lace dresses, unlined lace tops, sheer gowns, separate tops and bottoms, and long pieces of fabric you can drape around yourself for beautiful, intimate portraits. I have a private studio in downtown Lake Zurich, so you’ll have the place to yourself to create these images.

•Do I have to wear one of these?
Nope!  I am happy to help you select your own clothing through my styling service.  Not everything photographs well and I want you to have the most amazing photos, so I offer my help to ensure that you are thrilled with the final images.  Wardrobe plays a big part in your final images as much as my photography skills.

•I have my own gown/I want to buy one that I have seen online, but I am not into spending $200+ on something I will wear once.
Great! I am super pumped you’re into picking out something special.  I do ask that you let me see the dress you have or to send me a link to the dress that you’re interested in.  I have found that some online shops have stolen images and they are items which are not the actual dress you are seeing.  Unfortunately these copied gowns are often poorly made or they are not sized correctly (I’ve personally made this mistake, so trust me) and they can rip during your session. If there is a gown you want to use from a reputable shop that you would like to donate to the studio afterwards, please let me know and part of the gown cost can go towards your session.
