Deer Park photography | 6 month session

This family was back for their second round of photos at an awesome location in Deer Park, IL.  As part of my year-long baby plan they are having me create their newborn, 6 month, and 1 year/cake smash photographs.  Being able to see a child grow for their first year of life is pretty amazing to me.  They change so much from session to session and I love being able to capture that for the families to have forever.  He was also the same little guy that was published in Chic Critique as a newborn a few months ago, so he’s pretty special!

 

 

Since they were driving out to me from Chicago, the little guy woke up nice and sleepy from his car ride.  However he managed to wake up and get bright-eyed for his session.  He was Mr. Serious for the first few photos and I always find that so sweet, but I was also able to get those sweet smiles that I know Mom and Dad were wanting.

 

 

I really do love going to this location.  This was at basically high noon, which is usually horrible for photos because of the bright sun and sharp shadows.  However, I call this location magical because at almost any time of day you have perfect light for photographs.  Everything there just look perfect, to me.  With the sun just barely coming in, I find there’s always a neat haze in the background.

 

 

Little E’s mom and dad also had a special tie just for him.  Um, LOVE!  He totally rocked his Superman tie – I love when parents bring in something fun for their session just like this.  It gives that overly personal touch to their photos.  Plus, you totally know this photo is going to emerge at his high school graduation.
