Lake Zurich family photography

I get so exited for what I call outdoor season. Here in Chicago, we go from being cooped up indoors for what feels like forever and when the weather is finally nice enough to be outside, we take advantage of it!! I make the most of my outdoor sessions, that’s for sure. That warm light. The plants and flowers in bloom. The mosquitoes…yeah they can go away. But you get the idea.

This location in Lake County is one of my go-tos. There’s a lot of variety in a small area, so for those with littles (like this family) it makes it easy to get a beautiful variety in a short amount of steps.

That last one – how cute is he!?

I know families are always worried about their kids during their photos. It’s the number 1 thing I get emails about leading up to session or during the booking process. Will they behave? Will they be shy? Will the be ok for photos? Don’t worry, I hear you! In the beginning this cute guy was shy and wanted to snuggle with his parents more than anything. Luckily my years of teaching have given me a whole bag of tricks to use to help kids come out of their shell. By the end, he did not want to leave and wanted to keep posing for more photos. What a little ham!!!

While I have a private studio in downtown Lake Zurich, IL my outdoor sunset family sessions are super popular in the summer and fall. It’s so amazing to get outside and away from the studio for photos, too! These sessions are scheduled roughly an hour before sunset and are filled with relaxed posing and fun. While the studio is always there, outdoor sessions take place in Lake and northern Cook County (such as Schaumburg, Barrington, Palatine, Lake Zurich, and Buffalo Grove).
