It’s funny how things come full circle. For those that don’t know, I swam in college for the University of Illinois. It seems everywhere I turn, there is someone else that a) went to school there b) knows someone on a sports team there or c) played on a team, themselves. This family was gifted a newborn session with me and when I got to chatting with the mom, I learned that her husband played baseball at the U of I. It’s such a small world out there. The swimmer girls were known to hang out with the baseball guys, so we definitely had an overlap in our social circles despite the fact I was just a smidge older.
Anywho, it is always great having new parents in the studio. There is just nothing quite like being a brand new parent but these two made it look fabulous. Of course, we’ll just forget about the major explosion that happened during a feeding break. Thank goodness she was in one of MY towels and it was a waterproof one, at that. I don’t think a normal little wrap could contain that. But for sweet pictures like what she gave me – worth it!
I love the fact that baby P’s grandma came along, too. I was so thrilled to be able to capture a generations portrait for them. It’s such a special time and something like this just doesn’t happen often enough.
If you’re pregnant and in the Lake Zurich, Barrington, Lake Forest, Palatine, or surrounding areas, I’d love to meet with you to discuss your photography choices! Just use the contact form here on my site. I don’t want to be “just” a Lake Zurich baby photographer. I want to be your photographer.
You can view the entire session in the video below.
