My best friend’s sister is having a baby. Isn’t she lucky she knows me? Haha. I loved their maternity session (check the previous post for those) but once they were in my studio I was seriously so happy for their new little peanut to be added into the mix! He was seriously so cute – and was quite the sleeper! I couldn’t have asked for a better session and I know this momma and dad are thrilled with the photos from his first session with me.

Newborn sessions are booked before baby is here and as early as you’re comfortable. Why? To guarantee a spot on my calendar since they are photographed when they are around 2 weeks old. Those first few weeks are a whirlwind, so not having to stress about booking a photographer is definitely a perk!

I photograph families in my Lake Zurich studio, which is in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. However I have photographed new babies from all over including Barrington, Tinley Park, Inverness, Arlington Heights, Mt. Prospect and others. I simply love taking pictures of those sweet newborn babies and I have been doing for over 9 years! My studio has everything you could possibly need, simply show up with baby and you’re set!

Chicago maternity photographer

When Sharon came to me wanting maternity and newborn photos, I was so happy for her and Andrew. They are really relaxed and fun to work with – I just knew they were going to be awesome parents. I see them with their niece and nephew often (Sharon is my best friend’s sister), so I just knew they were going to rock the parent thing.

And can I get a big thumbs up for how amazing she looks!? I don’t know about you, but I just kinda gave up at the end of my pregnancies once my cankles and double chin set in. Haha. She looks stunning!

If you are pregnant, I would love to photograph you and your sweet baby. My Lake Zurich studio is filled with tops, dresses, and gowns, specifically for your pregnant belly. Plus as a newborn specialist, you better believe I have way more props, hats, and wraps for your baby than what is necessary.

I photograph in the surrounding Chicago suburbs including Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Barrington, Long Grove, and others throughout the Northwest Chicago suburbs.

Outdoor family photography Chicago IL

So this was an interesting day. They wanted a fall session so naturally, we scheduled for the fall. Makes sense, right? But we had a random heatwave and it was over 90 degrees outside!!! When outdoors, my family photography starts an hour before sunset and somehow it was hotter when we ended the session than when we started. It simply was NOT fair. Its supposed to get cooler as the sun sets, not warmer!

I’ve known this family since college, so they were able to roll with it and were such troopers. But man, it was HOT. We took several breaks to run back into our cars and blast the AC for a few minutes before heading back out into the heat. Other than that, the location was great, the light was beautiful, and the outfits were on point.

And kisses. Lots of kisses to go around with this family.

I would love to meet with you and photograph your family, as well. My studio is in downtown Lake Zurich, IL, but I photograph families from the surrounding suburbs including Lake Zurich, Barrington, Schaumburg, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Mt. Prospect, and Chicago.

It is best to book your session 6-8 weeks in advance or more if you’re wanting to schedule for the fall. I will make the process as stress-free as possible and will take care of all the details for you such as finding a location to even styling your outfits (seriously, clickable links to outfits that work together and photograph perfectly). I offer both full and mini sessions on a limited basis, minis starting at $350 and full sessions start at $600.

Baby Stella. This little lady LOVED her newborn photos with me! Check out that smile in the first photo. You can’t beat it! She was so snuggly and warm once I got her wrapped – she made my job look way easy. Definitely not complaining.

Newborn photography is my specialty and I would love to photograph your baby, as well! My studio is in downtown Lake Zurich where I have everything I need for your session. What you see in the photos above belongs to the studio. Besides the baby, of course. Trust me, there’s plenty more where that came from, too. Literally, I have a room filled with props just for you!

Since 2009 I have photographed families from Lake Zurich, Highland Park, Barrington, Lake Forest, Chicago, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Palatine and more throughout the northwest suburbs of Chicago. It’s an honor to photograph such a special event for you.
