This sweet family has the perfect little guy that just made his grand appearance a few weeks before this session. He was so sleep I don’t think I saw his eyes open ONCE the 2 hours they were at my studio. And with an older brother, sometime I never know what side of their personality is going to come through. Adding a baby t the mix after you’ve been an only child is a HUGE change in their world. Some kids are jealous of the new baby brother or sister and don’t want to take photos with them. This dude LOVED him and wanted to do nothing more than snuggle with him. In fact when I had mom or dad hold baby brother he would get jealous because it meant he couldn’t do it anymore. What a loving kid!

I only take 4-5 newborns a month, so to ensure your spot I cannot stress enough to contact me early as I fill up quick. My studio in downtown Lake Zurich has everything ready for you – hats, wraps, tiebacks, props, yada yada yada. Trust me, you don’t need to bring a thing (besides your baby, duh).

Family beach photography

Well it’s a little beach. And it’s definitely not the ocean. But it’s the beach right by my studio here in Lake Zurich so I’ll take it!!! It’s MY beach, haha.

I’ve known this family since I was in college and I always love being able to see them and their family grow. I photographed their son when he was born, I photographed their daughter when she was born. And here she is right at one!!! Nothing completes that first year of “yay parents, you did it!” like a little cakesmash with your new 1 year old, right?

Also, can we talk about what a ham Elliot is. Seriously. This kid LOOOOOOVES the attention! Plus R2-D2 shoes? LOVE THEM!

So fun! Even though she had practice beforehand, she wasn’t into the cake so much. No big deal! We still got some sweet photos from it (and had some leftover cake to take home).

Once again, I had an amazing time with this family. The last time I saw them I was VERY pregnant and I want to say they were my second to last outdoor session I did before Brooke was born. It’s hard to believe I am just now blogging their summer session and I’m about to see them again for their fall session! Time goes SO fast! But check out how amazing their session was this evening! They had everything perfect, even down to the light and the weather. Not too hot, and definitely not cold. Obviously they lucked out with that, but the cute kids and styling was all them.

While fall is just around the corner and my calendar has exactly 3 spots remaining for the rest of 2017, I would love to chat with you about a family photos! Can I get a “YES!” for good sleepers!?

YES!

Each time I photograph a newborn baby, I never know what I will get. Believe it or not, even just weeks old they all have very unique personalities. Will they want to do their own posing? Will they be awake and want to party? Will they be sleepy be jumpy? Each time it’s a new something to figure out and that’s something I love about being a newborn photographer. As easy as it looks, it’s really not. It’s also never the same and I always find a new challenge. I won’t lie, though. When they come in sleepy and ready for me to work like this guy, I definitely won’t complain!

Plus, he has the cutest little face. I loved how my hats framed it so perfectly!
