Photographing another photographer is always a bit nerve-wracking. For me, I always want everything to be perfect. Or perfectly imperfect, as I like to say. When it’s another photographer and their family, it magnifies that x1000! Luckily, she was super sweet and once again I had another family nail their wardrobe. Woo hoo!

And her little girls were easy to photograph, too. All of us photographers have photographer’s child syndrome. Mine is especially bad. Luckily, our kids are perfection for other photographers. Haha. These girls were no exception to that! Absolute perfection.

As a Long Grove IL outdoor family photographer, I love working with families to create the perfect session just for them! My studio is based in downtown Lake Zurich, however I travel all throughout the Lake County IL and Cook County IL areas to photograph families. These areas include Libertyville, Vernon Hills, Barrington, Inverness, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Oakbrook, Chicago, Deer Park, and others in the surrounding communities. Families sessions usually book weeks to months in advance with my fall schedule being fully booked by the end of July. For newborn sessions, booking during your second trimester ensures availability on my calendar just for you.

Palatine IL family photographer

Let’s welcome a new Golden Photography family to the blog! Could they be any more perfect. Talk about nailing the wardrobe, too! The boys were adorable – the oldest FULL of personality and the youngest not so sure of me. But I love the little crinkly nose look he gave me, for sure. What a sweetheart!

But that oldest. Can we talk about future Gap model? With his little dimple and natural posing, he’s perfect! Check out his little suspender shot, too. Perfection!

Mom specifically asked for a shot of just she and her husband, something I am always happy to do. I know how, typically, those photos never happen in day to day life. One of us is always behind the camera taking photos of the kids and our spouse with the kids. I love getting those images because that connection is just as important to document for ourselves and the kids over time.

maternity photographer Libertyville IL

I was so lucky with the maternity sessions I had this summer. Not only were we blessed with perfect weather and light, but I was also blessed with amazing couples!

This mom and I went back and forth maybe 3 dozen times regarding wardrobe, location, and everything. I love how it turned out! She was keeping the gender a surprise, so when it came to wardrobe we steered towards something more neutral. However, her pink skirt and blue bow was a nice little detail she added in. Don’t you agree?

If you are pregnant and expecting your little one, I would love to photograph you! Maternity pictures are best done between weeks 32-35, so please be sure to contact the studio to set up your date during your second trimester. I have a closet filled with gowns waiting for you!

If you’re wanting to schedule baby pictures, that is also best to book during your second trimester as my calendar books well in advance. Those photos are completed when they are less than two weeks old, so please don’t wait to book! I’d love to hear from you. stacy@golden-photography.net

Aaah, sweet Wes. You are all boy. I knew that when I first met you at your newborn session and a little truck your parents brought made an appearance. And tonight you were all about playing. You found anything round and it was immediately a ball. And that, my friend, was your happy place. I wasn’t going to stop you if it made you happy! Then there were your fingers. You had that little index finger up for nearly all of your photographs. I’m pretty sure you were just showing off how old you were.

And like any good one year old, he totally gave me the party fist. He was rockin’ this session, fist pumpin’ and all!

Fists up, ball throwing, crate climbin’, finger pointin’. This is life at one year!
