Yet another amazing momma (and dad) that I had the honor to photograph in Barrington, IL! First-time parents are always a special treat to photograph for maternity photographs. There’s just something with the newness and excitement you can always feel when you first meet them. Not to say there isn’t that excitement with any pregnancy, because its there! It’s the excitement of the newness that I am referring to.

I gave them the option of locations and they chose a beautiful spot right on the water! The light was so perfect for us so I am glad it was well worth the drive for them from the city to get here. I couldn’t be more excited to meet their little man!

Long Grove IL maternity photographer

This beautiful momma I first met when I photographed her family a few years back and it’s always so fun for me to see families grow like this. And this session couldn’t have come at a better time since her new little girl wanted to party early and arrived just a few weeks after her maternity session! Surprise!!! I always recommend that maternity sessions are to be done around the 32-35 week mark (which we did this around 33 weeks) and she went into labor about 2.5 weeks later!!! Perfect timing, right? (ps. I am also pregnant so those numbers may be off. Maybe Joy can correct me if that’s the case).

And look at that face on the to-be big sister! She is soooo excited to be a big helper when her sister arrives. I am so sure she’s going to help with all the diaper changes, right mom and dad?

Chicago IL newborn photographer

I got to meet this amazing family a few weeks back. Their family had gifted them a session and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. What an amazing gift! I had actually photographed mom’s sister’s newborn’s photos. Say that three times fast…

My studio has seen a fair share of great sleepers lately, so I was so happy when he continued the trend. I was able to do so much with him and get so many photographs for this sweet family. I think he opened his eyes once the whole time I was working with him. He had such great connection with the camera when he did it, too! Check out the photo of that, below.

It seems like not long ago this family was just in for their son’s newborn, 6 month, and 1 year session. But here they are again with their baby daughter (and how precious is she!?). Plus, for me I love seeing the face she looks like her brother at this age. She was such a doll – a feisty doll, but a doll. =)

On the bonus side, I’ve known this couple since college (dad and my husband were in the same fraternity), so for any family that comes to me after all of these years really means a lot. Especially when they live not in the immediate area, it’s extra flattering.

Much like her big brother, I cannot wait to see her grow up and her little personality start to shine through. I wonder if she will red headed like her brother?
