I blogged this family’s maternity session the previous week, so naturally I should follow up with their newborn session, right? They had a special request to use sunflowers for both their maternity and newborn baby photos, so of course I was excited for that.

Look how perfect she is! I think I need to incorporate flowers into more sessions, so thank you to this family for that idea. Plus, I love mustards and golden yellows for baby photos, so it gave me an excuse to pull a lot of those colors for this family in wraps, headbands, and bonnets.

She had the sweetest little profile, too. For her detail photos (macro for those familiar with photography terms) I couldn’t get enough, so I went a bit overboard. But at the same time those little features change so quickly, so I know they will appreciate those in the years to come and being able to compare how tiny everything once was!

My studio is in Lake Zurich (which is in Lake County, Illinois). For the past 10+ years I have been photographing families throughout the area, including Chicago, Cary, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Inverness, and more throughout Lake and Cook County.

If posed, sleeping newborns are your thing (with an emphasis on safety) then let’s talk! And if having everything supplied for you in a private studio sounds nice, then we’re probably a great match!

Newborn baby sessions are best booked early, in the second trimester or before baby is Earthside. Why? Sessions take place when your baby is about two weeks old, so having that scheduled early is so important! Plus, hunting for and researching a photographer is one less thing you have to worry about once they arrive. I know that’s not how things always work out, so please contact me ASAP to check my availability.

P family | maternity photographer Barrington Illinois

This sweet couple received a gift certificate as part of her baby shower – what awesome friends and family! So not only did I get to photograph their maternity photos in Barrington, Illinois, but I also was able to photograph their baby girl as well in my studio. I love that shower gift idea!

This family had a special request to incorporate sunflowers into their sessions. Fresh flowers for TWO sessions? Ok twist my arm…I love it!

We had an overcast day for her maternity photos and there was a chance of rain, but we won with a gorgeous night! At this location the mosquitoes and other bugs can be bad since you’re at a marina, but honestly we really lucked out with nothing in sight. Phew!

Look how beautiful she is! She originally selected a dress from the studio, but she showed up in this dress as a backup. I felt it looked great on her, so we stuck with this one for her session. Plus the purple really helps the sunflower stand out.

Welcome to the Golden Photography family, sweet guy! He was born a bit early so momma wasn’t able to schedule newborn photos until after he was home, but it all worked out! I was happy to fit them in and do a wrapped session for this growing family of three.

Lots of blues for this sweet guy! Plus a deep red setup, for fun.

I can’t believe I just had this guy in for his 1 year photos (yeah yeah, I’m a bit backlogged in blogging). He’s grown SO much he barely fits into my 6-12 month outfits, which is amazing because he was such a peanut when he was born! Way to go, dude!

I’ve had over 10 years of collecting things, to trust me when I say I have you covered!

My studio is in downtown Lake Zurich, but I have photographed newborns from Grayslake, Palatine, Highland Park, Chicago, Schaumburg, and several other suburbs throughout the area.

Reserving a spot is best done before your baby is born to guarantee space in my schedule. While most families schedule during their second trimester, I know life doesn’t always happen that way so please contact me as soon as you can! Newborn sessions take place when they are roughly 2 weeks old so that quick timing is critical.

6 month photographer Lake Zurich IL

Hello, stranger danger! This sweet girl wasn’t so sure of me and wanted to bee-line away from me at the beginning, That is so typical at this age so it honestly was nothing for me to worry about. I just had to act like a crazy person to keep her interest which made me work up a sweat. Just another day in the life of a child photographer, haha!

But seriously, how sweet is this girl? And can we talk about these new outfits? They’re all part of the studio’s collection! That means that when your child has a session with me you can select from any of these, or several others, for them to wear.

No worries, I have the boys covered, too. Actually, anyone in that sitting age to to about a year has a large selection to choose from for their photos, as well. For newborn sessions, I have selections up to 6T, as well. I love being about to provide that for families since its one less thing they have to worry about.
