My friend had a baby!!! I love photographing any newborn baby, really. But when it’s a friend, its definitely EXTRA special. This was one big dude, but it made him extra roll-y and sweet. Actually, he is the biggest newborn baby I’ve posed as a newborn photographer! He definitely gave my hands a workout! From what I remember, he was asleep for nearly the entire time, but enough milk and a warm room will do that to most anyone, right? Seeing that mom is Irish and his session was right around St. Patrick’s day, I had to wrap him in some green to celebrate.

But seriously. Those cheeks. I CANNOT get over them! Perfection! And the sweet little ear hat he is wearing is the exact same his older sister wore when I photographed her newborn photos. So glad I hoard things and I save everything for images just like this!

I would LOVE to photograph your sweet baby in my Lake Zurich studio, too! Most newborn sessions are scheduled during the 2nd or 3rd trimester to ensure baby is in my studio within those first 2-3 weeks of being born. That early timeframe is how I get them into those sweet, squishy poses. My studio has everything for your session (I promise), so all you need to do it show up and relax! I have photographed newborns from Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Arlington Heights, Chicago, Schaumburg, Barrington, and several other suburbs through the Chicagoland area.

I am in LOVE with this sweet baby! I started photographing her brother at the same age and I love comparing the two of them in my mind. They both look so alike but so different at the same time. The amount of chunk on her little body is absolutely the best thing I’ve seen in awhile! Her legs, her cheeks, her fingers. Gah! It’s all so delicious. She wasn’t so sure of me and totally made me work for those little smiles, but it was all worth it in the end. I am absolutely in love with the detail shot of her toe grab, too.

And she totally looked adorable in the studio’s little romper (one of many). Her mom specifically asked for some photos sans-clothes, just to get all those amazing rolls she has. Us moms know that once their babies are on the move, those rolls quickly go away. Another cute thing is that whenever I placed her on her back, she immediately went to grab her toes and feet. It made for some adorable shots of this little baby girl!

Thanks again, sweet girl, for letting me photograph your amazingness. I cannot wait to see you again this summer!

I’d like to introduce to you this guy who I have dubbed “Mr. GQ”. His mommas have him stylin’ so much, I love it. He had a bit of stranger danger at first but once he got over that he was all smiles. He’s just the sweetest kid! This spot just outside Barrington IL was absolutely perfect for their photos, too. We had amazing weather and those fall colors were juuuust started to peep through. Plus they were one of my last sessions before my maternity leave kicked in, so I was thankful for perfect weather!

Plus, they are totally chill and fun for me to photograph, so its winning all around.

Outdoor sessions are held in the evenings just before sunset and I am currently booking through July! This guy and his hair! I wanted to give him a mohawk SO badly. I restrained myself. He gave me SO many cute little expressions that I was able to capture, though.

But seriously, though. That perfect little head of hair! And because I’m a hoarder, I knew I had the perfect little hats to stick on him to show it off. Of course I did some without, but he was so cute with those tufts sticking out the front!

Are you pregnant and in the Libertyville, Vernon Hills, Lake Zurich, or surrounding northwest suburbs? I’d love to talk with you! Most moms book during their second trimester and that is when I recommend booking, but if baby is already here I can always try to fit you into my calendar (but I cannot promise availability). Newborn baby photos are best done when your baby is two weeks old or less, so that is why its best to book as early as you possibly can!
