So not to brag, but this family came all the way from England to be photographed in my studio. I mean, let’s just ignore the fact that it was the holidays, they were originally from this area, and that they were in town to visit and be with their families. They wanted family photos. It was all me…

But seriously, I was so happy to get to know this crew of 5. They were fun, silly, and full of personality. Like all kids they were shy at first, but they opened up and were willing to play along with me and I was so happy that they did! And for their youngest to be possibly teething, she was amazing! I love these posed (but unposed) sessions. Don’t you think it captures the love and personality of them so well? I also love their selection of neutral but layered clothing. And nothing matchy-matchy! Perfect!

Plus, did you check out her little pink romper and matching headband? That’s part of the studio’s collection and I LOVE it! Even mom was asking where it came from when the photo session was over. Unfortunately the things I buy for the studio come in very small quantities so she wasn’t able to get either piece for herself, but I loved that she liked it enough to know where I found it.

This was officially the first session back in the studio after my daughter was born. I had originally planned on taking all of December off, however she was doing great and I was feeling well. This momma contacted me after her daughter was born in hopes of booking a mini newborn session with me and since I was technically still on maternity leave, I jumped at the chance to snuggle another newborn!

Of course, this could have gone 1 of two ways. Amazingly well. Or down in flames if I misjudged my post-baby self. How amazing was she when I don’t think I saw her eyes the entire sessions?! Whew. She made my transition back to shooting super easy and I enjoyed every minute being with her!

But I was happy I was able to fit her into my schedule and get a little bit festive with one of her headbands. She was perfection!

So this baby was in my studio this past fall (hard to believe he’s now closing in on 6 months). After his momma’s stunning maternity pictures, I was so excited to finally meet him. She drove to my studio from Chicago and I am honored that she chose me for this special moment in her life! Her baby boy’s first photographs!

I don’t think he made a peep the whole time he was in my studio, so I had a blast posing him in my studio. What you see here was only a portion of his final gallery of images so I had to narrow it down for this simple blog post, but I loved every single one!

I photograph newborns when they are less than 2 weeks old, so most mommas book their session during their second trimester to ensure a spot on my busy calendar. So if you’re on the blog much this family is probably pretty familiar by now. I blogged their maternity session a few months back. This is their sweetest little addition, baby A. She was an amazing sleeper and rocked through her session in no time! Plus she arrived early and in my experience, those babies are more feisty when I pose them. So I was pleasantly surprised when she was absolute putty for me. Plus, those cheeks and rolls! SO AMAZING! Plus I don’t think she pooped or peed on me, so that’s a win! haha.

I am really digging this color palette, too. My fairly monochromatic style, but hints of pinks and purples mixed in. How pretty is she in those colors!?
