Another beautiful family photography session in Long Grove, IL. I photographed this family earlier in the year and I love that I was able to see them again for fall photos! They had some amazing light for their session and I was able to get so many different looks for their gallery. Even though their little dude wasn’t so sure of me at first, once he warmed up to me he was game for anything I suggested. And check out his love for his parents – it melts my heart!

My sessions are super relaxed with light posing – this guy didn’t need any direction! He was all about snuggling up with his parents and being such a sweet boy. His sister was just totally chill, so their two personalities made for some adorable photos.

Soooo a lot happens during that first year.

I can still totally see him in his newborn photos, though. I love that. So many things happen in that first year and its easy to forget how small your kiddos once were. Pictures and being able to visually compare them get me every time. I look at my daughter (who is 4) and I cannot believe how different she looks from even a year ago. But those first year photos? Geez. So drastic!

Lucky for me this kid was an easy newborn to photograph. He kept this trend with his 1 year photos. The dude was all smiles and was a real ham. Some kids are shy and weary of strangers. Not him! The little flirt.

Brand. New. Family! As a Chicago family photographer I always get excited to photograph anyone. But families that are new to me are always a special treat. I love sharing my passion and creating photographs that clearly illustrate their personalities. This family was no exception.

With little ones, each session is unique in how I approach them This dude was super unsure of me. No problem. I started out pretty quiet with him until he warmed up to me. Then he was aaaaaall smiles. And what a smiley man he was!

I love that last photo! I can still hear his belly laughs just by looking at it. I was so happy to photograph this new family and I cannot wait to see them again.

Seeing that there is snow on the ground in the Chicago area, blogging the warm fall colors is certainly a nice welcome to my blogging queue. Plus, outdoor fall sessions in downtown Long Grove IL are some of my favorites! I love this location because I am able to move in a small area and get everything from rustic, to grasses, to more urban if I wanted.

I saw these guys for the second time this year and I couldn’t be happier to see them back in front of my lens. They’re always nice and relaxed and roll with whatever I suggest. My type of people. This time mom was running late (thanks, NW suburb traffic) so I was able to get a bunch of the kids alone before she showed up. Their eye lit up when she got there – so sweet for me to see! Plus the kids adore each other (I’m sure Mom and Dad could tell me otherwise, but for me they are awesome at interacting with each other).
