So my sweet friend Bekah was back in the studio (I photographed her maternity photos in her amazing backyard the beginning of the fall). She and Sean had a beautiful baby girl and I couldn’t have been more excited to meet her. I love that every baby that I photograph is different and she definitely was a fighter and wanted to have *her* way. I mean, if photographing babies was easy we’d all be doing it, right? I mean, all they do is sleep, right? Um, no. Not even close.

So I let her think she won and still got those beautiful, sleepy images. Because that’s how I roll. I always get my way with these sweet things that are so new to the world.

Golden Photography is a private studio based in downtown Lake Zurich, IL, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Specializing in newborn babies, her clients travel to her studio from throughout the Lake County and Cook County areas including Hawthorn Woods, Barrington, Libertyville, Schaumburg, Chicago and more.

If you are pregnant, please contact Stacy as early as you are comfortable in the early 2nd trimester to book your session. Newborns are safely photographed within their first two weeks of life, so booking while you are pregnant is recommended to ensure my calendar can accommodate you.

Oh. My. Gosh. How time gets away from me once the busy season hits. Can you believe that I have a backlog of sessions since SEPTEMBER to get blogged? The good news is the absolute chaos of the busy season is over. 99% of orders are in my client’s hands. The last few are on their way to me. Just the typical sessions are still taking place, no last minute holiday rush.

Yeah, this is why my fall books up in June. Balancing my workload is the only way to ensure I have happy families with orders in their hands. Until the day I have an assistant or 2nd shooter…I know current my limits. But the right time to hire help may be here before I know it.

Anywho, enough about me and back to this family. I did sweet little J’s 6 month photos in his house a umber of months ago and he is BACK for his big O-N-E session. I think this stage may be one of my favorites because the personalities are out in full force (and curious enough to be entertained by me without running away). Yeah, the not running away part is key. We did the entire session around my studio in Lake Zurich and I couldn’t be happier.

Baby J, on the other hand, wasn’t in love with his cake. More so having it on his fingers, anyway. It’s ok dude, I probably ate some after you left. Don’t judge me – I’m not going to let some cake go to waste.

2016 newborn baby sessions now booking!

My newborn calendar for Jan-June is open for booking! There are a lot of photographers out there, so why choose Golden Photography? Besides years of photographic experience and being fully trained in newborn safety, my clients come to me for a unique piece of art that is specifically designed for them which is exclusive to my studio. So how does it work?

You newborn session takes place within those first 2 weeks of life in my downtown lake Zurich studio. I know it seems early but that’s how I create the sleepy, squishy poses you see on my website. You come hang out at the studio, watch tv, take a nap, relax, etc while I work. I have all the props you could possibly need, so you don’t need to bring a thing – just yourself and the baby. About 2 weeks after your session we meet again to view your photos and create your perfect order.

There is a $175 retainer to book your session and lock in your spot (I only take 2 newborns a week, so my schedule fills very quickly).
This retainer covers my time during your consultation, the session itself, access to all of my props and private studio, processing of your images, as well as a viewing and ordering session.

You have two ways to invest in your portraiture:

You can either choose a selection of your favorite files in low res for $350.
Or you can create a collection, which is what most do, which gets all of your digital images plus an art piece starting at $525.

I work with you to create something truly special and unlike anything you’ve experienced. Photography is means to be viewed and enjoyed – not hidden in a desk drawer on a CD only to be forgotten about or lost, unseen on a computer. How do you want to view your photos in 10 years? 20 years? I am here to help you figure it out.

Turning 2 | Barrington IL child photographer

Oh you sweet, sweet boy. And by that I mean 100% boy. I’ve photographed him since he was a newborn and I absolutely LOVE seeing my clients grow year after year. Knowing that I am able to help them preserve something that passes by so fast in a way that they can pass onto their kiddo as he gets older means the world to me.

Anywho, back to Mr. E. He is ALL boy. Running around. Dirt on the knees. Falling. Picking at and throwing grass. All. Boy. And I loved every minute of it. He has such an awesome personality (and a little flirt) it definitely made my job fun, too. It was a lot of playing and letting him be himself as I chased him with the camera to get some sweet photographs of him. When I saw “dirt on the knees” I mean it literally – check out the detail shot below!
