Ooooh my, you summer babies. What’s the deal? My June baby boom all boomed early this year! I blame it on the moon. Or the water. Or karma. Whatever. I kid you not nearly all of my June babies were born in May. It’s something beyond my control, that’s for sure. Baby R was no exception and I was so thrilled when he was able to get into the studio for his session. I photographed his big brother about a year and a half ago soon after I had moved into my studio in downtown Lake Zurich. I just loved having them come back for photos with their newest addition – it’s always super special to me when I get to know their whole families over time like this.

I also love sibling photos. Naturally, big bro wanted nothing to do with it and even with grandma’s bribing, he just wasn’t feeling it. But I was able to at lest manage one of them together. #betterthanzero

6 months is such a fun age for me to photograph. They are doing so many “new” thing like beginning to sit up, pushing up on their bellies, grabbing their toes, giggling, smiling, etc. This dude was all about ALL of those things. He is even starting to pull to a stand (whaaa?). He had hit so many milestones for his session I was able to get a lot of variety with him. For sure his parents are going to have their hands full when he starts walking. I can tell he’s all boy and is going to get into eeeeverything. You’ve been warned!

Also, how adorable are his little sungalsses and hat? He reminds me of a mini Blues Brother.

He was just the sweetest little boy. And so much personality for being so young! I cannot believe how much of a little personality he was – I know his moms are super proud of him.

Limited Edition summer session

It’s the time of year again. Limited Edition Summer Sessions are back!

Lake Zurich photographer mini session

Limited Editions are offered 1-2 times a year and ALWAYS sell out. And for what it’s worth, right now it looks like this will be the only one I can fit into my schedule for 2015. This year I am including 5 hi-res files (something I’ve never done) and a 3×3 or 5×7 framed fine art print of your choice. While 5 files are included with your session, your gallery will contain a larger selection of photos so you can pick which ones you would like. You will also have the option to upgrade and include your entire gallery’s files at that time if you love them all.

Why sunset? Because that’s the ONLY time of day you can get the beautiful, rich colors and glowing light you see in the samples above. It’s what I love to see in my photography. It’s also what those I photograph love about their own photos. I cannot get that warm, glowing light at any other time of day. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Sessions will be held within a short drive of Lake Zurich and your exact location will be known about a week before your date (it depends on which location is looking the best). In case of inclement weather, your session will be rescheduled for the same time the following day, so please keep that in mind when booking and be available both days. Because of the shortened time, sessions are limited to groups of 5 or less and not applicable for extended families or children under 3 months. Thank you for understanding.

$225 fee is non-refundable and used to secure your preferred date and time. In case your desired time is not available and an alternate cannot be resolved at time of booking, your $225 will be refunded.

Chicago suburbs baby photographer First of all, kudos so this momma’s siblings. Her sister contacted me last December regarding my services and wanted to create a special giftcard. She and her brother wanted to go in together to purchase a newborn session for their sister as a Christmas gift. What an amazing idea! I was so thrilled to help them create the perfect package for their sister, her family, and their upcoming baby. Being able to meet Tina (the lucky recipient) and her family was so fun for me – I just know they are going to cherish their photos for many years to come.

What else I loved? Her awesome big sister that was full of personality. Also, how amazing of a sleeper baby sister was for me for most of her session. She rocked it. Honest! I’ve been so lucky with sleepy babies the past few months! This gallery had 40 final images! Serious rock star right here.
