I had another amazing sleeper in the studio (no, not me, and not the new parents). A 7 day old! I honestly don’t remember miss thing making a peep outside some hiccups. Mom wanted a girly session and brought in a few things for me to use. However once she saw my prop stash she was good with using my things. I love that I have everything I need – it means parents cane come with nearly nothing and we’re good to go. I know its impossible to get out of the house with a baby, so I like providing that little comfort for them. Plus, I like to think I work with some amazing vendors that make beautiful things, so I’m glad parents also enjoy them.

She was just as sweet as sugar and it was great getting to know her parents, too. They pretty much fawned over her the whole session (ummm, how could you not).

So, a girly session??? Nailed it!

I saw this family about a little over month ago for their maternity photos and I was so happy to see them back in the studio with their baby boy! I know they were beyond happy to be back in the studio for his session, as well. It’s awesome to be working with first time parents that are soooo excited for this moment. I loved creating a session with warm tones that were also very boy-ish for them.

Oh, and I loved the Cardinals hat they brought to the session. Yes, it’s true. I don’t get many Cardinals fans in the studio (besides myself or my husband, they may be the first), but I love the fact they had a little Cardinals hat for him. It’s a nice break from the Bears, Cubs, or Sox stuff that I usually see. =P

Add another graduated 1 year planner to my list. So bittersweet!

Bittersweet because I love getting to know the family and their baby. But sad to not see them every few months anymore. I saw the G family for her 3 month, 6 month, 9 months, and finally her 1 year session. Smashcake session! Man, she was all over the place since she can now walk. It’s all about finding distractions for her to sit still for a split second while I photographed her. I pulled out all my tricks for this sweet one.

Oh my gosh, don’t the photos of daddy and daughter just melt your heart? I love how it’s such a genuine moment between them and it’s so sweet. Miss thing didn’t want much to do with her cake, but that’s perfectly fine! Nothing that shoving her hands into the cake and wiping it on her face won’t fix to make her to get into it. Haha.

I know I always say it (I have to because it’s true), I loved getting to know the G family. Everyone I meet leaves as friends and this is especially true when I spend the first year getting to know them. At least I know I will see them at other social things around the area, so I will still get to see her grow up over the years.

If you’re like me and find it beyond adorable, then read on! I met this little girl as a newborn and I cannot believe they’re already back for their 6 month session. She was such a little peanut as a newborn and an awesome sleeper. Now she has gotten soooo big – I love seeing how much they grow in just a few months!

I cannot wait to see her again for her 1 year session! If she’s any cuter than she was at this session, I am just going to have a field day with her. I cannot wait!
